Editorial policy

Learning News contains both our own independently reported material and that posted through commercial relationships with third parties.

News and Content

  1. Subscriber News and Content
Organisations with a paid subscription may publish their own news stories as part of their subscription. These are clearly marked and constitute paid-for content.

  2. Independent News and Content
Learning News produces original journalism. These stories are selected on editorial merit alone. Whether a company has a paid subscription or not does not influence editorial decisions. Editorial coverage is guided by journalistic principles and independent judgement.

Transparency and Disclosure

We are transparent about commercial relationships. Where a story is produced as part of a paid-for arrangement, this is disclosed clearly with the story. Where a story is submitted by a third party, the name of the organisation is listed beneath the headline and a disclosure notice added to the story.

Accuracy and Accountability

We aim to provide fair and accurate reporting. If an error is identified in our reporting, we will correct it. For third-party posts, we will request corrections or remove the content if necessary. These posts include contact details for the originator. Concerns can also be raised directly with Learning News, in confidence, via our contact form.

Editorial Oversight

a. Third-Party Posts
We operate a submissions policy to guide third-party contributors. Submissions may be edited or removed at our discretion. See our submissions policy for more information.

b. Original Reporting
The editor retains full control over editorial content. All reporting follows journalistic ethics, including multiple sourcing and fact-checking. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial considerations.
