Aurion Learning and St. James’s Hospital launch exciting new learning hub
Aurion Learning and St. James’s Hospital have launched an exciting new online learning resource to support healthcare staff in their continuing professional development.
The hub is the successful result of the work carried out by St. James’s Hospital in partnership with Aurion Learning, a specialist online learning solutions provider.
St. James's Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Dublin and has a rich culture of learning and development. The new learning hub will make it easier for St. James’s Hospital to promote learning and development and easier for employees to access learning and development resources and tools.
Speaking about the new hub Fergus Thompson, Learning and Development Facilitator at St. James’s Hospital said: “Our learning hub gives our 4,500 staff access to a number of really useful features including: a Personal Development Planning Workbook, a catalogue of e-learning courses, a resources library, blogs and discussion forums, an events diary, Frequently Asked Questions and much more.
It also includes In The Line of Fire, an e-learning programme specifically developed for St. James’s Hub, so our staff can complete their annual mandatory fire safety training online. We hope to use the hub to deliver even more mandatory training to staff in the future.
The hub will give us a better insight into learning activity amongst our employees and help us to provide more targeted learning and development activities and resources in the future. Ultimately it is a key tool in our overall learning and development strategy.
We encourage all our staff to sign up to the hub and give it a try.”
St. James’s Hospital staff can access the hub by logging into the Health Service Executive’s learning and development portal, HSELanD.ie.
Pat Kenny, National E-Learning Manager of the HSE commented: “We are proud to be continuing our work in promoting co-operation, knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst healthcare organisations.. St James’s Hospital employees can also avail of all the learning and development resources on HSELanD.ie including The Change Hub, The Integrated Discharge Planning Hub, e-learning programmes, forums and blogs, and keep up-to-date on HSE news and events.”
