Aurion Learning is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to redevelop the EalingHELP web site.
EalingHELP is a project initiated by Ealing Mencap and first realised with funding from Ealing Council. The funding for the redevelopment has come from the Aiming High fund. The website provides up-to-date information and support for the parents, carers and families of children with disabilities living in and around the London Borough of Ealing.
Aurion Learning originally developed the web site in 2006 and since then it has welcomed over 23,000 unique visitors and proved to be a valuable resource.
Speaking about the project, Barry Kelly, Product Development Manager at Aurion Learning said:
"We're delighted to once again be working with EalingHELP. This website provides a very worthwhile and useful resource to many families who have a child with a disability. As part of this redevelopment project, we're going to redesign the website to give it a fresh look and feel. We will work closely with the EalingHelp team to restructure content to make it more intuitive and easier for users to navigate. We'll also be taking full advantage of the latest technology to streamline functionality, make it easier for users to share their knowledge and experiences through discussion forums and blogs, and make the website even more user friendly."
As the father of a child with a learning disability, Nick Radclyffe from EalingHELP said:
"When you have a child with a disability there is a lot to learn and it can all be quite daunting. We hope that the reworking of the site will help to make the huge amount of information, already there, more accessible."
The new EalingHELP website will further embrace the ethos contained within the National Core Offer for Aiming High for Disabled Children by providing information that is accessible and tailored to the individual needs of children, and their parents. The new site will concentrate on delivering easily accessible reference material, including details of local government services, short breaks, transition, other support providers, leisure activities, benefits, legal advisors and much more. Along with this there will also be the constantly updated material featuring an event diary, news section, an open forum and a blog section which will enhance the existing editorial facility."
