With corporate use of live online training rising by 23 per cent last year*, a new Learning Skills Group (LSG) webinar will explore how this increasingly popular method can become part of a successful training strategy. Brightwave's MD Charles Gould, and Matt Turner, head of LiveTime Learning, Brightwave's interactive learning channel, will lead the online session. Don Taylor will chair the debate.

The LSG webinar on 21 September will consider the benefits of live online training and how it can complement 'pure' e-learning. The session will outline what organisations need to consider, potential pitfalls to avoid and the ongoing importance of learner engagement and interactivity. As well as presenting the big picture, Charles and Matt from Brightwave will reveal top tips on how to set up a successful live online training programme.

To attend the free LSG webinar (you don't need to be a LSG member to attend), simply register your interest by emailing events@brightwave.co.uk with your name, title, organisation and contact details.

Charles Gould, Brightwave MD said: "Live online training is starting to really capture the imagination of L&D professionals. In many ways, it straddles the gap between traditional face-to-face training and e-learning. I hope this webinar will help L&D teams understand how to implement an effective live online training programme and what measures and skills need to be put in place to succeed."

The webinar is announced as Interconnector (UK) Limited (a gas transporter, which operates a bi-directional gas pipeline connecting the UK and Belgian national grids) signs up to Brightwave's LiveTime Learning programme. LiveTime Learning delivers 20 minute live online training sessions direct to staff desks every day, enabling time-constrained employees to fit appropriate business training into their schedule.

Post-training research found that three quarters of Interconnector staff who participated in the LiveTime pilot had already put the learning into action and wanted to access additional training sessions. Interconnector will be rolling out the programme to staff with immediate effect.
