Brightwave cultivates local talent through advanced apprenticeship scheme

Learning NewsBrightwave Group

E-learning specialist Brightwave announces its support of DV8 Training Sussex and commitment to nurturing local talent through newly launched apprenticeship scheme.

Following a year of growth which has also seen employee numbers double in the last 12 months, Brightwave is furthering its commitment to recruiting the best candidates in the region by joining the newly launched Creative and Digital Media Advanced Apprenticeship scheme run by DV8 Training.

To support its focus on innovation and reputation for leading creative work, Brightwave has kick-started its involvement with the scheme by opening two vacancies - one for a Graphic Designer and the second a Content Integrator role. Details of these vacancies can be found here: http://www.brightwave.co.uk/jobs-at-brightwave/

The scheme is designed to identify the next generation of emerging talent by providing enthusiastic young people with the opportunity to learn and develop their existing skills in a paid-for, real-life workplace environment. The apprentices will be employed full time by the participating organisations who have committed to providing support, mentoring and guidance to candidates throughout their 12-15 month apprenticeship training.  Each apprentice spends four days a week in the workplace and 1 day at DV8's training centre.

The only e-learning organisation to be involved with the scheme, Brightwave is leading the way by increasing the diversity of skills, knowledge and experience of its workforce. A responsible employer, Brightwave is also demonstrating its commitment to regional and industry growth by welcoming and developing a fresh intake of emerging young talent.

Alison Mitchell-Innes, Director of Talent, at Brightwave said: "Developing the next generation of talent is high on the agenda at Brightwave to support our current growth and future ambitions. As part of this drive, we're delighted to support the DV8 Apprenticeship Scheme. As well as helping to ensure a fresh pool of talent and ideas for Brightwave, we are excited to be supporting a scheme that benefits young local people and the wider digital industry."

Tara Solesbury, Digital Media & Creative Industries Consultant with DV8 said: "We are really pleased to be working with Brightwave. Not only are they offering two fantastic new opportunities for young people to kick-start their careers but as a company they exemplify the positive and proactive attitude of the local digital media business community, which has been so central to developing DV8’s Apprenticeship Scheme."
