Silver for Brightwave and UNISON at the 2014 e-Learning Awards
Next-generation learning expert Brightwave is celebrating success after Thursday night's exciting e-Learning Awards ceremony. Over 550 guests gathered at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London’s Mayfair on 6th November to recognise the best of e-learning.
Brightwave and UNISON are thrilled to have won a silver award in the "Best e-learning project - third sector" category at this year's e-Learning Awards. The award-winning solution was developed by Brightwave for UNISON in response to a challenging situation faced by thousands of public sector UNISON activists.
Membership systems for organisations such as UNISON, the biggest public sector trade union in the UK, are central to any work and it is critical staff and activists can easily update or retrieve data. The e-learning programme means UNISON is now able to train a significant number of activists in a short amount of time.
Implemented by Brightwave, the innovative, user-friendly bespoke LMS solution was a resounding success. With exceptional take-up and completion rates - it delivers real just-in-time learning, while overcoming the challenge of data protection, dramatically reducing administrative workload, improving learning effectiveness and reducing costs.
Charles Gould, CEO at Brightwave, said:
"Brightwave is proud to provide clients with solutions and products that are truly personalised. This wasn’t an off-the-shelf system packed with functionality integrated with numerous HR processes. It was truly bespoke - co-designed with stakeholders engaged and consulted throughout the development process, with a result perfectly suited to meet UNISON's needs."
Ursula Winkler, Training and Support Manager at UNISON, said:
"The e-learning programme has changed the way we work with our activists and staff in branches. It also means we managed to train a significant number of activists in a short amount of time. Hundreds of UNISON activists with a range of responsibilities have already completed the training and the feedback so far has been very positive. This is a well-deserved award for Brightwave.”
