Brightwave at CIPD L&D Show: 'what would your organisation do with an extra £30K?'

Join Brightwave's Chairman Charles Gould at the 2015 CIPD Learning & Development Show, as he explores the four core components of total learning and demonstrates how formal and informal learning can transform onboarding.

Total learning - the future is here: 14th May, 10:45am - 11:15am

The CIPD L&D Show, London Olympia, Technology for Learning stage

As well as challenging the value of formal, structured learning, L&D is beginning to think more about how informal and social learning - powered by innovative tools and technology - can be enabled to not only benefit learners but reduce staff attrition and associated costs to their organisation.

Brightwave's upcoming session at the CIPD L&D show examines how forward thinking organisations are engaging with their learners and retaining their top talent through total learning strategies and tessello, Brightwave's award-winning total learning system.

Research concludes that 86% of organisations agree it takes six months for their new employees to decide to stay with the company and yet only 39% of organisations have onboarding programmes that last longer than one month*. With 16% of new starters leaving an organisation ASAP, and a further 40% leaving less than a year into their role**, L&D teams need to get staff on board, support their development and keep them engaged - all at the same time - even faster.

A total learning approach to onboarding not only increases employee engagement and provides a faster speed-to-competence, but reduces associated costs to replacing lost staff; engaging and retaining just one employee saves an organisation on average a total cost of £30,614***.

Charles Gould, Brightwave's Chairman said:

"Retaining just one employee by utilising a total learning approach saves an organisation a substantial amount of money; £30k makes a real difference to any L&D team's bottom line. tessello provides tailored onboarding blends that also reduce the cost of developing new onboarding materials, lowering administration overheads. tessello is an essential onboarding system every forward-thinking organisation should have for their learners; retaining talent is essential, now and in the future."
