Global learning and performance agency Brightwave and PwC are celebrating after success at Wednesday night's E-Learning Awards ceremony. Over 700 guests gathered at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London on 25th November for the annual award gala to recognise the best of e-learning.

Brightwave and PwC came away with the prestigious gold award in the "Best use of e-learning to ensure compliance with external regulations or internal policies" category for its innovative information security solution, "Be Smart. Be Secure".

The award-winning solution was developed by Brightwave and PwC to support the global advisory firm's robust information security agenda. The solution centred on an interactive video simulation that featured a week in the lives of three fictional PwC employees. Using unique breakthrough technology to create a moment of self-realisation, the learner clicks on hotspots identifying high-risk security breaches as they happen.

The innovative programme was completed by over 17,000 PwC UK partners and staff, and not only earned a record satisfaction score, but delivered on its key objective to focus on positive behaviours around information security.

The solution fought off competition from nine other shortlisted projects to scoop the top award in what was one of the most highly-entered categories in 2015. The judges praised the project for its 'technologically innovative and engaging approach'.

Caroline Walmsley, CEO at Brightwave, said:

"Brightwave could not be more proud of our work with PwC and this project in particular. We continuously looks to drive an agenda of innovation and fresh thinking with our clients, and the opportunity to work on such a unique project, one which blends the latest technology with the very best learning design approach to solve a key business challenge, is what really drives our team.

Recognition for the solution at this year's E-Learning Awards - the most prestigious accolade in our industry - is the icing on the cake for us. We would like to thank the PwC team for their shared commitment to excellence and willingness to share the fantastic story of this project."

Tom Riddell-Webster, Head of Information Protection at PwC, said:

"Managing information risk is an ongoing strategic priority for PwC. The ‘Be Smart. Be Secure’ e-learn solution resonated with our people and ensured they were aware of the information risks that surround them every day by using scenarios they encounter as part of their working and personal lives.

Feedback has been very positive and it is clear that the programme has inspired our people to focus on correct behaviours, thereby helping to provide significant defences against information security threats."
