Interactive video is key to delivering engaging learning experiences, determined Brightwave, the leading agency for next generation learning, at an interactive session they hosted at Learning Solutions in Orlando, Florida.
Brightwave's Head of Learning Design, Caroline Freeman presented a session entitled 'Interactive Film: Immersion in Learning' in which she shared various interactive video techniques and insights as well as concepts from learning and instructional design, psychology and technology.
Caroline said: "Video is huge and it's getting bigger. With 60 percent of all web data forecasted to be video content within five years, there exists a huge learning opportunity to embrace this medium."
The event, which took place from 16- 18 March, is hosted annual by the eLearning Guild and explored 'proven methods for leveraging technology in ways that enhance learning and performance in your organisation'.
"We're working increasingly with clients to embrace the opportunity that is created with interactive video," Freeman added. "Different forms of video narrative and interactive enhancement lend themselves to certain learning requirements. Understanding how best to utilise these methods often requires an experienced partner who can help to identify the value need and know-how to deliver upon that."
The session explored multiple aspects of the topic included the impact of rising technology, combining video and games in immersive learning, the use of storytelling and what processes to employ.
Caroline's daily video diaries from the event are available to watch back here.
