Helping charities use a digital approach to developing skills
The Charity Learning Consortium will be showcasing its work at Learning Technologies, helping charities use a digital approach to developing essential skills.
According to research, lack of budget is one of the main barriers to the continuing professional development of charity staff. As a result, there are key gaps in areas like leadership and management. Lack of skills also contributes to increased workloads in the sector, with work taking longer to deliver.
A digital approach has proved to be a cost saving, effective way of meeting this need. Members of the Consortium save time and money using learning technologies, but also see greater productivity and behavioural change as a result.
Budget saving offers for Learning Technologies mean that charities can choose to:
- Join the Charity Learning Consortium before April 2019 and get a free set up worth £1,000 plus VAT
- OR sign up now and pay later, once budgets are renewed, with 14 months subscription for the price of 12, speedy set up and an extended renewal.
Annual subscription to the Consortium includes access to an entire suite of engaging, video rich eLearning courses. Popular topics include equality and diversity, data protection and GDPR, IT skills, health and safety, soft skills and leadership and management development.
Members also benefit from joining the Charity Learning Consortium community, with complimentary meetings, workshops and an annual conference and awards.
Martin Baker, founder and CEO, commented: “Charities are often in a catch 22 situation – they don’t have the time or the money to develop their staff, but without it their work takes longer. Our special offers are designed to help them use a digital approach to developing skills, which has proved incredibly effective at meeting charities’ needs."
