Breast Cancer Now selects the Agylia LMS for new digital approach to volunteer training
Agylia announces that Breast Cancer Now has selected the Agylia Learning Management System (LMS) to provide volunteers with access to digital and blended learning programmes, supporting mandatory training and ongoing personal development.
Breast Cancer Now is a UK charity providing world-class research and life-changing care for people affected by breast cancer. Breast Cancer Now offers a variety of volunteering opportunities, including through its services for people affected by breast cancer such as Someone Like Me and Moving Forward. The charity provides full training plans to support their volunteer community.

Though face-to-face training and events will still have an important role to play in our volunteer offering, embracing digital learning solutions will enable us to support our volunteers in a more flexible and cost-effective way.”

It will also allow us to provide online training for volunteers who support us in short-term term programmes, meaning they are well equipped to undertake their role safely, and to enjoy giving support.”
With its focus on user experience, the Agylia LMS’s engaging interface and simple navigation will provide Breast Cancer Now’s volunteers with easy access to a wide range of learning and support content, including eLearning and microlearning courses, videos, online and face-to-face events.
In addition to enabling the creation of structured blended curricula, the Agylia LMS will enable Breast Cancer Now to provide a range of self-led learning and refresher materials at the point of need.
“Although a particular topic might be covered as part of a volunteer’s early training plan, it could be a few months before they discuss the topic with a support service user. It’s therefore vitally important that volunteers can easily access materials to refresh their knowledge as this will enable them to provide the highest levels of support to people affected by breast cancer”, explained Emily.
Breast Cancer Now will use the Agylia LMS to provide volunteers with digital learning resources covering compliance (data protection, confidentiality, policies and guidelines), soft skills (communication and listening), and breast cancer specific materials (publications, glossaries and research).
Breast Cancer Now are also using the Agylia LMS as their employee learning platform, through which they are providing their employees with access to on-demand digital and blended learning programmes.
