CompTIA announces senior management promotions
The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) today announced the promotions of three senior staff members to new roles in the global trade association.
Named to new positions are Neill Hopkins, appointed vice president, skills development; William Vanderbilt, named vice president, education and training; and Randall Palm, promoted to chief technology and information security director.
"Neill, William and Randall each bring a unique set of talents and skills to our organization and a shared commitment to deliver high-quality products and services to our members around the world," said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA.
As vice president, skills development, Hopkins is responsible for all certification and assessment activities for the commercial, educational and government markets. In addition, he continues to oversee operation of the CompTIA Educational Foundation and the association's IT Pro Membership initiative. Hopkins joined CompTIA in 2002. Prior to his promotion, he served as the association's vice president for workforce development.
In his role as vice president, education and training, Vanderbilt leads CompTIA activities in developing training materials for the association's 11 certification programs. He also is responsible for building educational programs, tools and seminars for the information technology (IT) industry channel; and he continues to lead the organization's Technology Learning Group initiative. Vanderbilt, who joined CompTIA in 2001, most recently held the title of director, CompTIA Technology Learning Group.
Palm serves as the leading technology resource for all CompTIA initiatives and offices worldwide. He also oversees the organization's IT infrastructure and operations. Palm, who joined CompTIA in 1999, previously served as director, information technology.
