Cornerstone OnDemand client HML among speakers at Learning Technologies seminars
Financial services organisation explains how Cornerstone OnDemand’s learning and talent management system is driving employee engagement through building a ‘self-service people development system’.
Cornerstone OnDemand Inc., the specialist in on-demand, integrated learning and talent management software and services, has announced that Gary Evans, People and Development Architect at HML - the UK’s premier third party mortgage service and part of the Skipton Building Society - will be speaking on ‘talent management in action’ from 2pm on 29 January, in a seminar at the Learning Technologies event, Europe's leading showcase of organisational learning and the technology used to support learning at work. This year, Learning Technologies - which is being held at London’s Olympia on 28th and 29th January 2009 - focuses on ‘Next generation learning at work’, and will provide examples of how technology-supported learning is crucial to business performance and success.
Evans, whose company installed Cornerstone OnDemand’s talent management system in order to reduce employee time-to-competency, ensure compliance and streamline business processes, commented: “Not only was the project in time and on budget but, within five months, the system has delivered savings equal to its cost. The Cornerstone system has helped us not only to get rid of out-of-date information but also to harmonise our HR processes and produce a great deal of ‘joined up’ information – to the benefit of both our staff and the business as a whole.”
“An organisation’s most valuable asset is its employees but, with more limited budgets and resources, businesses can become uncertain about the direction of their talent strategies,” commented Vincent Belliveau, General Manager, EMEA, Cornerstone OnDemand Inc.
“However, now is the time for companies to align their human capital management strategies with overall business goals to create organisational efficiencies and attract, cultivate and retain high-performing talent. Those who do will be better positioned for success.
“Traditionally, not only do people not have access to information that would help them do their jobs because it is held in a different part of the organisation but, in the particular areas of recruitment, performance, compensation and succession planning within the HR function, the business is handicapped,” he added. “This is where Cornerstone OnDemand products are now making a difference to business performance – because they are helping businesses to find and access the people-related information they need.”
HML’s Evans added. “We place a great deal of emphasis on employee engagement to enable our business’ bottom line to improve consistently. That means driving employee performance by building employee engagement.
“Cornerstone’s solution gives us a ‘self-service’ people development system which covers performance management, talent management and provides access to learning.”
