Do your managers focus on their weaknesses or on their strengths?
Creativedge, the high-performance management, leadership and personal development training provider, has created an exercise to provide managers with insights into how to identify and improve upon their personal strengths.
Creativedge's Mark Rose said: "Building upon personal strengths
is great way to maximise potential, yet many managers are more
acutely aware of their weaknesses. This is a common mistake that we
see repeated throughout many organisations: when managers focus too
much attention on addressing areas of weakness they often limit
their potential."
The 'identify your strengths exercise' challenges
managers to consider: their actions at work and how they might
react in a number of situations. The exercise takes around fifteen
minutes to complete and is available free-of-charge on
Creativedge's website.
"Many managers are surprised by the results of the exercise; it
often changes how people see themselves," added Rose.
As well as unearthing often surprising insights, the exercise
prepares managers for Creativedge's one-day Identify your Strengths Workshop, where
managers can gain new skills and a number of tools and techniques
to help them to better identify and to develop their personal
strengths.
