The Docebo E-Learning Platform provides a global solution for Autodesk
Autodesk, the world leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software and services, is using the Docebo E-Learning Platform to enable its Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) program to reach a global, multi-cultural and multi-lingual audience.
The ACI program, offered by Autodesk and 11 distributors around the world, currently attracts some 500 candidates a year but numbers are expected to double each year for the next five years as Autodesk’s software products grow in usage around the globe.
Autodesk and Engage Global Solutions - the dedicated global distributor for the Autodesk Authorised Training Centre (ATC), Certifications and ACI Program – realized that the existing program needed reviewing, re-designing and re-building. So it looked for a learning management system (LMS) that was extremely robust, flexible and scalable to handle the program. Its research led it to the Docebo E-Learning Platform - a Cloud-based SaaS product which allows easy scaling for global implementation and, importantly, also allows for localization.
As a result of using the Docebo LMS, all of Autodesk’s 11 regional distributors across the world have their own section within the LMS where they can add their own courses; monitor and add instructors and so on. In turn, this enabled Autodesk to use a mix of online and classroom-delivered learning processes, as well as user-generated video content on the ACI program.
At present, there are 11 distributors, six separate products for which instructors are certified (Autodesk 3ds Max®; Autodesk Maya®; Autodesk Inventor®; Autodesk Revit® Architecture; AutoCAD®, and AutoCAD® Civil 3D®), and two options for delivering certification. However, scheduled to be included in the system shortly are the ability for cross-certification, re-certification, and yearly maintenance - for all six products across all 11 distributors.
“The Docebo system allows for ‘localization options’ to be included – thus allowing the system to continue to grow in line with the needs and goals of a growing global company,” commented Alessio Artuffo, Docebo’s Chief Operating Officer in North America.
“From a long-term point of view Docebo will make it easy for us to, again, scale this program,” said Laura Johnston, Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) Program Manager. “The LMS is flexible in that we can include additional projects. We can add additional levels of certification. We can add new languages and go to new regions that we might otherwise not be able to reach.”
Since Autodesk is a global company, its ACI program is offered in a large number of countries, including China, Japan, Korea, Germany, French Canada and throughout Latin America. This means that it isn’t always convenient or appropriate to deliver the program through the medium of English - so its LMS must be able to cope with communicating via different languages.
According to Autodesk, the ability to localize Docebo platform’s user interface to accommodate a large number of languages gives it the flexibility to deliver the ACI program and collect learner data in different languages. Moreover the fact that every language can be further personalized via ‘What You See Is What You Get’ (WYSIWYG) independently - without requesting any support from Docebo - is a major advantage of the system.
This project allows Autodesk to meet its targets because it’s produced a scalable, sustainable system that’s appropriate for global solutions and for global implementation.
“Docebo responded quickly to all our queries, is easy to work with - and it’s done a fantastic job here,” said Rickard Lautrup, Global Projects Manager at Engage Global Solutions.
“We wanted a global approach because the ACI program is global, content is global and we manage this at the global level but the LMS had to allow us to manage it in regional silos. We were delighted to find that this is part of Docebo’s standard product offering.”
