eCom Scotland is delighted to have been shortlisted for not one, but two prestigious eLearning Awards.
The eLearning Awards is the industry standard for all those involved in eLearning. Now in its sixth year, the Awards attracted 250 entries from a worldwide audience.
This year the organisers have commented on the high standard, demonstrating the enormous scope of ideas and practices that eLearning covers, adding that just making the shortlist is a major achievement.
In the category of Best eLearning Project Securing Widespread Adoption, Scottish local government's only online professional qualification certificated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), The Customer Service Professional Qualification has been developed under Renfrewshire Council and the Improvement Service's lead, in partnership with eCom Scotland.
Thanks to working closely with eCom, The Customer Service Professional Qualification is helping to transform the sector by extending the reach and provision of customer service training through online learning. This offers cost savings of up to 66% compared with traditional classroom-based teaching. In tandem the Qualification has also resulted in bottom line council savings of £750,000 as a result of developing and delivering the Qualification, and is helping to transform the sector by providing the local government workforce with the right skills, knowledge and confidence to the benefit of customers.
Secondly in the category of Excellence in the Production of Learning Content - Private Sector, eCom Scotland showcased the work they have done with Howden in creating the Howden eLearning Academy. Howden turned to eCom Scotland to take their traditional courses and in turn create over 40 online learning modules for their 'Developing Engineering Excellence' programme. The use of eLearning within Howden continues to grow with new modules being planned for a global roll out of Human Resource policies such as Equal Opportunities and Code of Conduct.
