Online training innovators rewarded for their unique approach to training

Personalized online training provider Filtered took home a silver and bronze award at last week's 20th annual Learning Awards.

The event, organized by the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) and once again hosted by TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, saw the key players in L&D descend on London’s Dorchester Hotel to celebrate the work of the brightest and most innovative companies and individuals in the industry.

Filtered were rewarded for their forward thinking approach to business training by taking second place in the Innovation in Learning Award, as well as third place in the Learning Technologies Award. The awards recognise the work the company has done since inception in creating a personalized learning experience for their users. As well as taking home two awards, Filtered sponsored the Start-up Learning Provider of the Year Award that went to communications elearning provider Rock and a Hard Place.

Filtered is proven to decrease time-to-performance for learners, reducing the opportunity cost of training and maximising the impact of time spent learning. Clients have praised Filtered for its strong focus on increased adoption, engagement and impact (e.g. a study of 3000 Filtered users measured a 26% greater improvement when using filtered material).

Richard Anning, Head of the ICAEW IT Faculty, a long time Filtered partner, highlighted the key benefits of Filtered training: "The ability to filter out unnecessary modules and concentrate limited time on the most important topics, the mix of learning methods used and the reporting given by the company dashboard make this perfect for the ICAEW’s members. The quality and focus of the training product combined with the flexible and professional management team have made this a fantastic partnership".

Marc Zao-Sanders, co-founder and MD of Filtered, commented enthusiastically on being a double-award winner: "Industry experts including Josh Bersin and Elliott Masie predict that personalization will revolutionise the way firms upskill their staff over the next few years. This modern way of developing staff will not only reduce the cost of training but also minimise the amount of time spent out of the office compared to structured face-to-face training.

At Filtered we’ve been working hard to make personalized online training a more efficient solution to train staff, and regularly examine the relevant principles businesses can apply to their data to personalize training effectively. These awards demonstrate that our approach is recognised as a tangible, valuable solution not only by our clients by the wider L&D industry."

The event saw a total of 14 awards judged by a collection of leading industry figures chaired by Nigel Paine, Colin Steed, Sue Bradshaw, Kandy Woodfield and Barbara Thompson. The evening also included a charity auction in aid of Dreamflight, a small charity that take seriously ill or disabled children to Florida each year.
