Global Knowledge first to market with new Microsoft Windows Vista training courses
Global Knowledge, the world's largest independent IT Training company, has developed two new Microsoft Windows Vista training courses based on Microsoft's pre-release version of Windows Vista Release Candidate 1.
The training courses are called Migrating to Windows Vista and Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft Windows Vista. Both of the new Windows Vista training courses are five-day, intensive, hands-on courses held at Global Knowledge's UK training centres in London, Wokingham, Coventry and Wakefield as well as across Europe.
The first Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft Windows Vista training event takes place on 16 October in London. This training course covers the deployment, customisation and support of Microsoft Windows Vista in a networked Active Directory environment. It also covers configuring the new enterprise troubleshooting tools, Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) and remote administration.
Thomas Lee, Microsoft Chief Architect at Global Knowledge sees this as an important development for Global Knowledge and the early adopters of Windows Vista: "I am very excited about the two new Windows Vista training courses that we have developed. They are up to date with Release Candidate 1 today and we will be updating them for the Release To Manufacturing version as soon as we get the 'gold code'."
Thomas Lee is passionate about Windows Vista and the huge advances it will bring to computer users: "Microsoft Windows Vista is about improving clarity, confidence and connectivity for all users. Improved clarity comes from how users find, manage and control their information: the new interface provided in Vista makes 'search' a far more seamless experience for users. Improved confidence comes from the new security features, with revised 'User Access Control' preventing users from falling foul of malicious software. Improved connectivity features allow users to really take advantage of wireless technology: greater and better wireless collaboration will be one of the more noticeable changes, in the way that people work, that Windows Vista will bring."
"It is a challenge to track a product prior to completion and launch and Microsoft Windows Vista has been five years in the making. Windows Vista is a major upgrade of the Windows operating system and there are significant differences over the Windows XP environment. Therefore, Windows Vista also brings with it a significant skills challenge for software professionals and corporate IT departments. With this courseware we can enable our customers, and the Windows Vista early adopter community generally, to be right up to date with the latest Windows Vista developments."
Steve Philp, Global Knowledge's UK Marketing Director, added: "Global Knowledge's commitment to be first to market with these kinds of courses helps us to maintain our position as the leader in innovative Microsoft training solutions, both here in the UK as well as across Europe. These first Microsoft Windows Vista training courses are selling out quickly and we expect to be announcing further Windows Vista training dates over the coming months."
