Global Knowledge first to market with Cisco and Microsoft collaboration courses
Global Knowledge has launched a series of courses to provide Cisco and Microsoft staff and channel partners with knowledge about each others' products and services as part of the Cisco and Microsoft enhanced customer collaboration program.
Global Knowledge, Europe's leading provider of learning services for IT and management professionals, has launched a series of courses aimed at experienced voice and data sales and technical employees that need to know about the key Cisco and Microsoft products and how they fit together into a unified communications solution.
Cisco and Microsoft have been alliance partners for years but now their customers are asking for increased collaboration to make new business scenarios a reality, a deeper commitment to highly interoperable environments, and more clarity on how the two companies are working in unison on their behalf.
As a result of this Global Knowledge, the world's largest Cisco and Microsoft authorised training provider, has developed a range of courses that will help IT professionals with installation, integration and interoperability issues between the respective networking and software products.
A range of new one-day training courses includes: Business Overview of Microsoft Unified Communications for Cisco Integration, Technical Overview of Microsoft Unified Communications for Cisco Integration, Business Overview of Cisco Unified Communications for Microsoft Integration and Technical Overview of Cisco Unified Communications for Microsoft Integration. For example, the one-day Business Overview of Microsoft Unified Communications for Cisco Integration course will introduce experienced Cisco voice and data personnel to commonly used Microsoft terminology and technology. Areas covered will include Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, Exchange Server 2007 and a comparison of Live Communications Server 2005 and Office Communications Server 2007.
Frank Hojgaard, Managing Director of Global Knowledge, believes that it is essential for Global Knowledge to develop these types of courses. "We are uniquely positioned in the IT training marketplace as an authorised training partner for Cisco, Microsoft and Nortel and have worked closely with all three vendors in training both their employees and their respective channel partners. Global Knowledge recently helped Nortel to train their support staff to achieve the MCSE certification as part of their Innovative Communications Alliance with Microsoft."
"By providing training courses for Cisco and Microsoft employees and their partners we can play an important part in helping both organisations to meet customer demands for improved interoperability between the network and software solutions that they provide."
