Global Knowledge leads the way with ITIL version 3 training courses
Global Knowledge, Europe's largest independent training company, has launched a series of ITIL version 3 training courses, giving enterprise customers the ability to benefit from the latest edition of the popular IT service management methodology without delay.
ITIL v3 moves away from a process model to a five-stage interlinked model that covers the complete lifecycle of service management. It focuses more on key evolving areas such as infrastructure management and dynamic IT services. Adam Murphy, ITIL Product Manager at Global Knowledge says that the new version of the methodology can deliver significant benefits.

Global Knowledge set out its plans to deliver effective ITIL v3 training to a group of over 50 customers from mainly corporate and public sector organisations at the Mercedes Benz World in Brooklands, in the UK. Speakers at the event included Vernon Lloyd, Director of Service Management at Fox IT and co-author of the ITIL v3 content, who explained how the new ITIL approach works. There a five books in the ITIL v3 series and they will be published on 30 May 2007. Global Knowledge has a strategic partnership with Fox IT in the UK.
ITIL v3 courses will be available at Global Knowledge training centres from June 2007 and Murphy expects demand to be strong: "There is a great deal of interest in ITIL version 3 and the benefits which it undoubtedly brings to large organisations that are striving to deliver the highest standards of service in IT. We have already scheduled dates across the UK for upgrade courses and will be running new versions of the foundation level courses from this summer. We expect demand for the courses to be very strong."
Richard Pharro, Managing Director of the APM Group, the specialist accreditation, certification and qualification organisation that administrates ITIL worldwide, was also present at the Global Knowledge launch. He has indicated that new SME foundation exams will be available from the 11th June 2007 and higher level qualifications will follow in the next few months. Global Knowledge plans to offer these to its customers as soon as they become available.
