Room for improvement in worldwide managed training services and outsourcing says Global Knowledge
Global Knowledge announces the launch of 'Total Learning Approach' and the formation of a new Learning Services division to provide organisations with greater value from investments in learning; a new modular approach to outsourced training.
Global Knowledge's Learning Services division brings together expertise in IT training, project management and contract management to provide customers with the learning and development support needed to develop workforces in line with business goals.
"Organisations now recognise the value of learning and development as a genuine business enabler, but with costs under pressure and a strategic need to focus on core activities, businesses are increasingly looking to external agencies to support, or manage completely, their learning programmes and outcomes", says Janet Way, Learning Services Manager at Global Knowledge.
"We are introducing our 'Total Learning Approach', a new way to look at learning management and outsourcing, to provide businesses with a comprehensive and cohesive answer to these challenges."
"Global Knowledge conducted an extensive evaluation of customer needs to help to define and launch our Total Learning Approach. We carefully assessed customer needs and looked at other offerings on the market that have perhaps failed to deliver their expected strategic value. Too much learning outsourcing hasn't been successful, so we've asked why? Our measured response is to apply methodologies and processes that identify risks and ensure, as a supplier, we can act seamlessly and provide learning services in tune with business strategy. For example mapping job roles and staff competencies to make sure the right people are identified for the right learning and that learning really adds value to the business," continued Janet Way.
"Global Knowledge has put a dedicated Learning Services team in place to manage every project and to make sure each client gets the right tailor-made service. The approach Global Knowledge has developed is both modular and all-encompassing so it can meet the full spectrum of requirements."
"With our Total Learning Approach, customers select the services needed to support the way they want to run their learning operation. We offer clients the flexibility to outsource individual components of our expertise to complement their existing activities or to outsource their complete learning operation as an entire managed learning service."
Global Knowledge's Total Learning Approach comprises eight modular services:
Scoping and Implementation
Training Administration
Project and Supplier Management
Programme Design and Content Development
Learning Delivery
Skills Management
Technology
Management Information
Frank Hojgaard, UK Managing Director of Global Knowledge, added: "The formation of our Learning Services division and Total Learning Approach, combined with our existing global footprint, are key ingredients in Global Knowledge's strategy to continue to develop as a world leader in business learning, able to meet the complete learning needs of international businesses."
