Happy Computers is first to deliver new Institute training certification
Happy Computers is the first provider to be a fully qualified assessment centre for the Institute of IT Training. A full programme of assessment and training to the new TPMA standard has been announced.
Happy Computers has announced a programme of training and assessment for the Institute of IT Training’s new TPMA training standard, after becoming the first fully qualified assessment centre. Trainers will be able to choose from a half-day assessment, a three day train the trainer course or a two day conversion course.
“We are delighted that Happy Computers are the first provider to be fully accredited to deliver the TPMA standard” commented Colin Steed, Chief Executive of the Institute of IT Training. “Happy has a track record of training of the very highest quality and we look forward to working with Happy in further raising training standards in the industry.”
The TPMA (Trainer Performance Monitoring & Assessment) service is a collection of processes, associated guides and records, designed for Training Managers and trainers. It provides a framework for the objective assessment of a trainer's delivery performance and associated signposting of developmental activity.
The Competencies and Behaviours Framework, or Standards, which form the governance for this service, are based on best practice in training. They are also aligned to national standards on the Qualifications & Credit Framework and qualify for IITT Professional membership. Existing Institute members must, to continue their professional membership, be assessed under TPMA unless they have another level 3 learning and development qualification.
Happy Computers’ delivery will be based on over ten years of assessing and certifying trainers, having developed their own Learner Focused Training (LFT) standard. LFT is based on fully involving the learner and on focusing the training on each individuals needs. It is designed to make training effective and enjoyable and also work relevant, so the new skills can be applied as soon as the student returns to their job.
“TPMA is a real step forward for the training industry”, comments Henry Stewart, Chief Executive of Happy Computers. “By combining it with our own Learner Focused Training we believe we have an approach that can transform the way people learn about computers, and make IT training courses something that people really look forward to.”
Dates for the half-day assessment are March 11th, 30th; April 6th, 22nd; May 11th, 29th; June 15th, 30th
The three day train the trainer course starts on March 16th, April 15th, May 20th and June 1st
The two day TPMA conversion course starts on April 6th and June 23rd
Happy Computers is known for the quality of its training delivery. For each of the last three years it has been rated in the top two training providers in the UK, in the Institute’s annual IT Training Company of the Year awards.
