CMAP© Certified Mobile App Professional is a SIG brought together by iSQI - comprising international IT leaders working to establish standards in mobile technologies; First course 'Mobile App Testing – Foundation Level' announced today.

CMAP© Certified Mobile App Professional is a SIG brought together by iSQI, which is made up of international IT leaders that are working hard to establish standards in the area of mobile technologies. The first course to be developed by CMAP© “Mobile App Testing – Foundation Level” will give its participants an excellent introduction and understanding of the topic through use of a large variety of exercises and examples.

Until now very little has been done in the area of mobile technologies and to introduce a standardized way of proving the knowledge one has in this dynamic field with a tremendous amount of variables. “With app downloads mounting in the billions and startup companies popping up across the globe – iSQI is supporting the implementation of general standards in the creation and usage of mobile technology” stated Stephan Goericke, CEO of the iSQI GmbH.

Apps and mobiles have become an important element of today’s society in a very short time frame. It is important that IT professionals are up to date with the latest developments of mobile technology, in order to understand the ever evolving impacts on testing, performance and security. These impacts transpire and influence how IT specialists develop and test software in their everyday work. A Mobile App Testing certified professional can support the requirements team in review of mobile application, improve user experience with a strong understanding of usability and have the ability to identify and apply appropriate methods of testing, including proper usage of tools, unique to mobile technology.

For the first CMAP© course, the SIG has developed course material, slides, handouts, tutor notes and exercises. Starting today, training providers will be able to license these course materials directly from iSQI to offer training courses. In order to offer this training, the trainer must have successfully completed the CMAP© Mobile App Testing – Foundation Level course and received the certificate. Training providers also have the opportunity to submit their own training material for accreditation through iSQI.

iSQI (International Software Quality Institute) is the official examination body of CMAP©. ISQI, headquartered in Potsdam with branch offices in Amstelveen and London, is a leading provider of certification examinations all over the world. Focusing on IT professions, iSQI plays a large role in certifying the know-how of professionals in over 90 countries on 6 continents in 10 languages. In 2013, iSQI certified more than 14,000 individuals.

The CMAP© Mobile App Testing – Foundation Level exam can either be taken directly after the second day of this two-day course or as an e-exam thereafter at any of the 5,000 Pearson VUE test centers across the world. This one-hour multiple choice exam, consisting of 40 questions, will soon be available as a SMEX© (tablet-based) or FLEX© (anyplace, anytime) exam.
