Kineo and McDonald’s win Articulate e-learning award
Kineo, one of the most successful and innovative e-learning companies globally, has been awarded an Articulate Guru Award for the e-learning it created and delivered with McDonald’s UK.
Managing restaurants profitably is a complex task balancing staff costs, material costs, sales, quality and customer service whilst still ensuring you make a profit. This is something that McDonald's UK have excelled in for many years and they need to pass on these skills to their workforce in an effective and cost saving manner. Kineo was engaged by McDonald's UK to use Articulate to design and develop an engaging e-learning course to promote and develop these skills in a new generation of staff.
The project was very much based on a collaborative venture between the two companies. Kineo developed the initial prototype based on content and scripts developed by the McDonald's team. As the project moved into full production, members of the McDonald's team worked side by side with the Kineo team, getting trained up on the Articulate skin and templates; feeding back on the content.
Articulate develop rapid e-learning tools. In the case of McDonalds's UK the key requirements for the platform were to be able to include complex interactions, develop an approach that met the specific brand requirements and to deliver a rich range of interactions. The platform used an Articulate skin developed for Kineo to allow McDonald's UK full control over the branding and positioning of elements such as the logo.
The e-learning project saved McDonald’s over £1m in delivery costs and resulted in a significant uplift in performance.
The Articulate Guru Awards are held every year as an online competition between Articulate's talented active community. As an award winner McDonald’s receives a cash prize of $1,500 which is being donated to charity.
