Kineo and the IoD: Creating a Learning Hub for Business Leaders

Brighton, UKLearning NewsKineo

With over 100 years of experience and 40,000 members, the Institute of Directors is globally recognised as a leading body of excellence in corporate governance and board and director development. Now they’ve collaborated with Kineo to create a new Leadership and Management portal which is a great step forward, as Kineo’s latest case study explains.

When the Institute of Directors (IoD) were looking to restructure the syllabus for an existing blended programme, whilst at the same time taking the opportunity to refresh the materials, and revamp their existing, outdated, website, they called on leading global e-learning company, Kineo.

The case study explains how Kineo worked with the IoD to create highly interactive and engaging e-learning activities and a delivery platform using Moodle, the Open Source LMS.

Kineo collaborated with the IoD team to:

  • Implement Moodle, the popular open source LMS to for a better user experience, replacing an older tool
  • Create a range of engaging learning resources, including e-learning, eMagazines, quizzes and more
  • Provide training and support to the administrative team to give them control

The re-launched resources and portal are already proving a huge hit amongst IoD members, and there has been some very positive feedback, not least that of IoD Director of Learning & Development, Ryan Ahern: “With the ongoing demand and expansion of IoD Chartered Director qualifications both in the UK and overseas, it was important that we had a platform of the highest standard from the outset. The partnership with Kineo has not only achieved  his by fully supporting our current client needs, but more importantly has provided a solid platform from which to promulgate our ongoing expansion both in the UK and overseas.”

Kineo consultant Jo Cheesman said: “This is a great example of Moodle in action, helping the IoD take control and deliver a great learner experience. We’re proud of our partnership and look forward to working together to take the site even further.”
