KnowledgePool enhances its training management system with new functionality

KnowledgePool, the managed learning services company, has added three new functionality features which enable clients to customise its web-based training management and administration system.

KnowledgePool has an online catalogue of over 10,000 courses, provided by partner suppliers. Clients can search and book these courses through a web-based portal called LiveBooker. The routine and labour-intensive administration aspects of their booking - such as confirmations, joining instructions and reminders - are fully automated and the system also manages the authorisation, purchasing and post-event evaluation processes.

LiveBooker is used by major organisations, including the Competition Commission, Fujitsu Services, the Home Office and Merrill Lynch.

The first additional feature enables clients to create and add their own in-house schedule of courses to LiveBooker. These courses - which would either be delivered by the client or their approved training supplier - would appear in the client's online catalogue and would benefit from the system's automated booking, authorisation, purchasing and evaluation processes.

The second feature allows clients to resolve invoicing issues by accurately allocating costs to in-house courses. New functionality allows the course costs to be aggregated and apportioned across all the delegates and/or charged to a single contact. This feature is designed to enable better cost/price tracking and reporting of events for clients.

The third feature enables clients to completely tailor the automated course authorisation process. When a delegate selects a course from the online catalogue, LiveBooker triggers a series of authorisation processes which involve emails being sent to line managers and budget holders for approval. The delegates get feedback throughout the process, on the status of the authorisation. With this new functionality, each client can create their own specific authorisation process and tailor the system accordingly.

Paul Jefferson, CEO of KnowledgePool, said: "LiveBooker enables organisations to greatly simplify the process of selecting and buying their training. These three new features - which we've added at the request of clients - are evidence of our commitment to continual improvement. With LiveBooker, and our industry experience and expertise, we're well placed to help clients transform their learning & development programmes, meet business needs, improve service levels and evaluate the learning benefits from training."

With over 40 years' experience in the training industry, KnowledgePool is the UK's leading provider of vendor-independent managed learning services.
