Bracknell, UKLearning NewsKnowledgePool

Managed learning services company KnowledgePool today announced strong financial results after another year of profitable growth through new business wins and a major acquisition.

The company - which manages learning for major clients such as Fujitsu Services, the Home Office and Orange - reported profitable growth on a turnover of £23m, a 60% increase in revenues over the previous year. Pro-forma revenues, incorporating the full year effect of the acquisition, are £28m.

Paul Jefferson, CEO of KnowledgePool, said: "It's been another exceptional year for us. We've consolidated our position as the UK market leader in managed learning and continue to set the mark through our established partner network and innovative approach to continuous improvement. This year's results are again a testament to the enthusiasm, expertise and professionalism of all our staff and their continuing commitment to quality and customer service."

The results reinforce KnowledgePool's ranking as one of the top 20 companies in the worldwide training outsourcing industry, as recognised by TrainingOutsourcing.com.

Among the significant events this year was its acquisition in March 2008 of Business Training Partnership (BTP), another vendor-independent learning outsourcing specialist. The combined business has diversified KnowledgePool's client and supplier portfolios which now cover the financial services, telecommunications, media, technology, IT services, consumer goods and public sectors.

"This broader foundation provides a stronger basis for cost savings and continuous service improvement for our current and prospective managed learning service clients," said Paul Jefferson.

In February 2009, KnowledgePool celebrated its fifth anniversary of becoming an independent business under private equity ownership, during which time it has experienced a compound annual growth rate of over 35%.

Simon Philips, Chairman of KnowledgePool, said: "These are excellent results. We are confident that our offering is ideally suited to the current economic climate. Our services reduce the total cost of training whilst improving both the quality and effectiveness of learning, resulting in a higher return on investment."

KnowledgePool has over 40 years' experience in the training industry. Working in partnership with in-house learning and development teams, the company secures best value for client training budgets through specialist training administration, supplier management, learning consultancy and evaluation services.
