Switching on the Learning Light
Learning Light, a non-profit organisation that helps to build relationships between learning technology researchers, suppliers, buyers and learners, is launched officially on Thursday 16th March at a special reception in Sheffield.
Supported by Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency for Yorkshire, and the Humber and Objective 1 South Yorkshire, Learning Light has a nationwide - and international - remit to provide bespoke and individual services to help both buyers and suppliers of learning technologies.
Mark Pittaway, Learning Light's Chief Executive, commented: "Through Learning Light, we are striving to create a European Centre of Excellence for the use of learning technologies within the workplace.
"In order to be successful, we need to encourage both buyers and suppliers of e-Learning to take advantage of our unrivalled research into current markets and trends in learning technologies. We would also encourage anyone involved in e-Learning - as a seller, buyer or user - to tap in to the wealth of knowledge and experience of the leading thinkers and practitioners in our industry, which Learning Light makes available to its members.
"We also offer consultancy services to buyers to help them find the best in class learning technology solutions to meet their needs and implement them effectively, as well as provide support for suppliers on current market demands.
"Learning Light is also launching a Professional Development programme to help learning & development professionals understand the significance of learning technologies in the workplace today and how to implement them effectively within the workflow processes of their organisation," he added.
The launch of Learning Light takes place at the Macdonald St Paul's Hotel, in Sheffield, from 4pm on 16th March.
