Winners of the 2020 Learning Technologies Awards revealed
Some amazing achievements in learning technologies were celebrated on 18 November 2020 as the winners of this year’s Learning Technologies Awards were announced in the online gala.
Nearly 500 entries were received from all over the world and many of those shortlisted, and their teams and partners, joined online to celebrate. Deborah Frances-White and Tom Salinsky were on hand to announce the 74 gold, silver and bronze winners.
There were double gold wins for Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education in Team of the year and Learning organisation of the year, and they also took silver for Excellence in the design of learning content - public & non-profit sector. TinQwise also took double gold along with each of their partners, OMRON Healthcare and QuaRijn, and there was also a silver with QuaRijn as well. Learning designer of the year was Angela Moreno Valero and Developer of the year was Owen Court.
Other gold winners included Learn Amp, Network Rail, MetLife and NIIT, QA, Institute of Education, Singapore and Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering, as well as many others. Congratulations to all the winners whose performances have really stood out in the world of learning technologies.
Donald H Taylor opened the presentation evening with a welcome address: “The Learning Technologies Awards represent a huge network of talent and ingenuity and we would like to thank all the organisations, teams and individuals that helped to define this year’s competition.”
He added: “We are hugely grateful to our sponsors and partners for their generous support once again. The headline sponsors were GO1, Kallidus, Omniplex, The Skills Network and THRIVE. The judging partner was the eLearning Network, and our thanks go to them and all our 61 judges. Congratulations to all our 74 winners.”

About the Learning Technologies Awards
The Learning Technologies Awards is an international scheme which has been celebrating outstanding learning technologies for 16 years. They are open to anyone worldwide, no matter what the size of the organisation, and showcase some of the most recognisable, memorable, and life-changing learning technologies and e-learning around.
The Learning Technologies Awards are independently judged and receive hundreds of entries each year. Categories cover innovations, projects, design, games, simulations, social media, mobile technologies, onboarding, and blended learning, as well as awards for outstanding individuals, teams and organisations.
