RESTON, Va. - September 27, 2010 - Learning Tree International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRE) today announced that over 5,000 business and IT professionals have enrolled to participate online in training courses through the company's Learning Tree AnyWare solution during its first year of open enrollment. Learning Tree AnyWare is the industry's only live, online training delivery solution that connects participants to an actual classroom. Based on the success of Learning Tree AnyWare's first year, the Company will expand its course offerings as well as increase marketing efforts in the U.S. and around the globe.
AnyWare enables participants to fully interact with their instructors and classmates through a media-rich interface which integrates live classroom video, audio and chat features, as well as the ability to view instructor demos. In addition, participants collaborate with their peers and perform hands-on course exercises just like in-class students, developing the confidence and capability they need to apply their new knowledge and skills after the classroom work is completed.
Participants from over 25 countries have attended high-quality Learning Tree International management and IT courses delivered through AnyWare. AnyWare is available for delivery at client locations as well as through Learning Tree International's own extensive network of classroom training locations and Education Centers. This provides customers with maximum flexibility, allowing them to obtain the training they need, when they need it, from wherever they are located. Unlike traditional online programs, more than 97 percent of AnyWare participants successfully complete their two- to five-day courses, which is equal to in-class participant course completion.
Over the next three to six months, Learning Tree International will be promoting AnyWare to regions in the U.S. that currently do not have access to an Education Center. These metro areas include San Francisco, Calif.; Hartford and Bridgeport, Conn.; Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tampa, Fla.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Charlotte and Raleigh N.C.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Austin, Dallas and Houston, Texas. In addition, Learning Tree International will be looking to begin pilots and expand open enrollments internationally.
"Our experience with Learning Tree's AnyWare training solution has been extremely positive," said Ralph Eldridge, director of Services Education, EMC Corporation. "This type of blended classroom model has allowed us to achieve our goal of making quality technical training globally available. The engineering students who participate online felt they received the same high-quality presentation as those who participated in the classroom and, more importantly, the same rich lab experience they have come to expect from a Learning Tree Course. We are appreciative of this very efficient approach, which also enables us to be 'greener' by reducing travel and conserving energy."
Learning Tree International's expert support staff guides participants through an easy setup process and offers real-time technical support during class, if needed. AnyWare courses are easily accessed through any computer with a standard browser, and hands-on exercises are delivered through a secure, Web-based connection to a hosted environment. Hard copy course notes and all other required materials are shipped to online participants prior to the course.
"Most learners find themselves bored to tears with conventional e-learning, thus leading to high dropout rates. It was our mission to break free from the constraints of traditional online learning methods and provide a delivery solution that integrates and leverages the key strengths inherent in the instructor-led classroom environment," stated Nicholas R. Schacht, president and CEO, Learning Tree International. "By reaching over 5,000 enrollments in just over one year of open enrollment, it's clear we have successfully achieved our vision. AnyWare delivers the benefits of the actual classroom while also providing participants with the flexibility to access a wide range of course titles without needing to wait for local course availability."
Learning Tree International offers three delivery methods, including courses at Learning Tree International Education Centers, on site at client facilities and via Learning Tree AnyWare.
