Sydney, AustraliaLearning NewsLumify Group

Sydney, 15 October 2013 – DDLS (Dimension Data Learning Solutions), Australia’s largest training provider of technical IT certification, process management and professional development, today announced the launch of a series of new training courses aimed at helping organisations turn business strategy into project reality.

The new Managing by Project and Project Management courses offered by DDLS help companies improve their own organisational capabilities, and the capabilities of their people:

  • Managing by Project – focuses on doing the right projects. It enables organisations to realise their strategic intentions through a structured portfolio of programs and projects, all prioritised, planned and executed within a project-centric culture
  • Project Management - focuses on doing projects right. The training teaches people how to plan, organise, direct and control assigned yet limited resources to a project, in order to accomplish a business objective within the constraints of scope, time, cost and quality

“We identified that more organisations are making the change to understanding Managing by Project (MBP) as an organisational competency,” said Mal Shaw, CEO of DDLS. “In today’s business environment more organisations are being structured to portfolio and program management philosophies as they wrestle with the need to do more with less, which results in the need to think carefully about the projects that will deliver more with current resources. There are a number of industries leading the way in terms of MBP uptake, including IT, telecommunications, financial services, public sector, mining & industrial, education and health.”

DDLS provides the most up-to-date courses by accessing the latest content from the leading global project management associations PMI and APMG. Courses can be tailored to each client situation and need, and these certifications are internationally recognised.

From Foundation through to Master courses, DDLS offers content that suits all levels of experience. Whether your organisation wants to operate using best practice, has identified a MBP need but doesn’t know what to do about it, or simply doesn’t know where to start, the hands-on face-to-face training meets the needs of all levels.

Mark Croxford, Business Development Manager Australasia for  APMG-International commented: “Managing by Project and Project Management techniques continue to develop. The training offered by DDLS is aimed at building the capabilities of an organisation and its people. It provides currency for the certified professionals, many of whom regularly return to maintain continuous learning and keep their skills and certifications current. For the organisation the capabilities gained from the courses help turn business strategy into reality, through the ability to tactically deliver towards business goals.”

“Consistency delivers organisational progress, and MBP helps organisations achieve the consistency needed to drive change,” added Shaw. “We are seeing the shift towards MBP becoming a cultural dimension of businesses; becoming ‘the way we do things around here’.  Organisations that invest in building MBP capabilities are more likely to deliver the right projects, in the right way, leading to more successful teams, better business performance and increased shareholder value.
