Open LMS WORK Version 4.1 Introduces Exclusive New Features, Simplifies Learning Management
Open LMS WORK 4.1 introduces a new instructor-led training plugin to enhance blended learning strategies, along with additional functionality for ecommerce, security, accessibility, and the mobile app.
Open LMS, a market leader in learning and development solutions and the largest commercial provider of open-source Moodle™ hosting and support services, today announced the latest product update for its corporate learning management system (LMS), Open LMS WORK. This new update, version 4.1, includes all enhancements from Moodle™ version 4.5, as well as exclusive feature upgrades that can only be found on the Open LMS platform.
With version 4.1 of Open LMS WORK, users now have access to a new Instructor-Led Training plugin. This plugin makes it easier for organizations to integrate instructor-led sessions into their LMS and support their blended learning strategies. It has six key capabilities:
- Multiple instances and tracks allow administrators and instructors to set up multiple activities per course that have their own training tracks and session schedules. This allows for better user distribution across tracks, ensuring end-users have a more structured and efficient learning experience.
- Capacity management lets administrators define learning sessions and manage course capacities based on each meeting location’s availability.
- Role and permission controls use context-aware user assignment with enrollment verification to give users access to specific functions and features within the platform.
- Completion and attendance tracking make it easy to configure course completion criteria and track attendance for individual learning sessions.
- User registration and notifications offer rich text support, and email confirmations and calendar invites are automatically sent when users register for a learning track.
- Six Instructor-Led Training (ILT) report sources, now supported by the Open Reports Engine: IledT Activities, IledT Attendances, IledT Attendees, IledT Sessions, IledT Tracks, and IledT Wait-list.
Open LMS WORK 4.1 also includes a new training framework option that allows organizations to limit course completion validation to a specific category. This ensures that learners can only gain credit from courses that are relevant to their specific training or development tracks. Some organizations have overlapping timeframes for various programs or certifications, and using this new feature simplifies program management while offering greater control over which courses contribute to successfully completing specific programs.
The software update also introduces two new payment management options for Open LMS’s eCommerce tool. Adding PayPal and Authorize.net as payment processing gateways in addition to Stripe makes the eCommerce functionality even more accessible for clients.
In addition to these Open LMS-exclusive features, Open LMS WORK version 4.1 incorporates the various software updates and enhancements from Moodle™ version 4.5.2, including accessibility and security improvements, as well as an updated mobile app. You can read the full list of Moodle™ updates here.
