Pearson VUE bring UKCAT closer to home
Pearson VUE has recently developed and opened "Occasional Sites" where students in more remote areas of Scotland can sit their UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT).
Pearson VUE have recently developed and opened "Occasional Sites" where students in more remote areas of Scotland can sit their UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT).
Previously, students in these more rural areas of Scotland have had to travel long distances to mainland sites in the UK to take the UKCAT. Consequently, Pearson VUE and UKCAT have worked together to develop a solution whereby candidates can test locally whilst ensuring no compromises are made on customer service, check-in and invigilation processes. This solution is made possible by the use of 'Occasional Sites' where the entire testing experience
mirrors that of those candidates who test in one of the 465 more permanent facilities across the globe where the UKCAT tests are available. Occasional Sites are used in areas where demand is low and the costs of setting
up a permanent site are high.
Occasional Sites provided by Pearson VUE have already been set up in the following locations; Isle of Arran, Isle of Barra, Isle of Benbecula, Isle of Islay, Isle of Mull and Isle of Tiree. Many of these sites have the highest volume per capita of students in the UK who go on to study medicine/dentistry. Tests will be delivered in at least one day session, one
evening session and one Saturday session throughout the UKCAT testing window of 07 July - 10 October 2008.
