Nurse Anesthetists continue benefitting from accelerated path to certification with renewal of Pearson VUE testing agreement
Nurse Anesthetists across the United States are set to continue progressing their careers by undertaking readily accessible industry specific exams, following renewal of the testing partnership between Pearson VUE and the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Professionals specializing in the administration of anesthesia, who are looking to gain initial certification, can take NBCRNA computer-based exams at over 300 test centers nationwide. The longstanding partnership between Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, and the NBCRNA enables thousands of Nurse Anesthetists to undertake the National Certification Examination and the Self Evaluation Examination every year. Candidates who pass the exams, which are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), and the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC), receive an advanced practice nursing credential that validates their skills and ability, which ultimately leads to a higher quality of care for patients.
In addition to pursuing certification at their most local center, the agreement enables candidates to discover their results directly upon completion of their exam.
Karen Plaus, PhD, NBCRNA Executive Director, said:
“NBCRNA’s mission is to ensure patient safety by certifying competent practitioners. The continuation of our partnership with Pearson VUE means that we can test professionals in the most secure and trusted manner. The fact that candidates discover their results instantly allows them to obtain prompt proof that they have the knowledge and skills to occupy such an important role in healthcare.”
Robert Whelan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pearson VUE, added:
“The need for NBCRNA exams continues to grow with the demand for skilled, qualified medical professionals able to safeguard the health of the nation. Delivering over 100 of the world’s most prestigious health professional exams provides us with the experience and capability to help programs such as those administered by the NBCRNA.”
