Raytheon awarded CableWireless Worldwide apprenticeship programme contract
Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), has been awarded a contract to manage apprenticeship programmes across the U.K. for Cable&Wireless Worldwide (CWW).
As part of the contract, RPS will manage three areas of specialization within CWW’s apprenticeship programme offerings: Telecommunications Engineer, Business and Administration, and Customer Service. RPS will also facilitate qualification assessments and Virtual Classroom Training (VCT) delivery for the CWW programme. Based in Milton Keynes and Nottingham, and operating throughout the U.K., RPS will provide first class skills, enhanced employability and expert learning solutions for the apprentices, who range in age from 16 to 24.
“The continued development of vocational skills is an enabler to long-term employment, career progression and mobility in the telecommunications market,” said Kirsty Huntington, programme manager, CWW Apprenticeship Programme. “RPS has an established track record in delivering first class services that will help us ensure our future talent needs are met.”
RPS recently underwent the first inspection of its apprenticeship services by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) and was given a Grade 2 ranking, an achievement that immediately places the company and its services among the top U.K. vocational training providers inspected.
“This contract with CWW will allow RPS to deliver solid learning programmes to young people across the U.K.,” said Mark Oliver, managing director of RPS EMEA. “They will be prepared for careers in a trade and industry that can serve them for the rest of their lives.”
