Saffron Interactive, one of Europe’s leading e-learning, mobile and blended learning companies were once again lead sponsors of the Learning Technologies Exhibition and Conference and took the opportunity to bring together their ideas on serious gaming and mobile learning on a specially created app based on the Bribery Act. The short sample was designed to assess learner's understanding of the Bribery Act in relation to everyday choices.

Taking the form of a scenario based game where users are scored on their action and competitively assessed by an online leader board, the game proved to be very popular. The game can be accessed across a full range of mobile phones and tablets including i-Pads, Android tablets and Smart phones.

Saffron continued their gaming theme with a seminar hosted by Alex Webb and Nick Baum debating the pro’s and con’s of gamification and detailing how some companies are harnessing the power of game techniques to change behaviour in the workplace.

Finally Saffron rounded off a busy schedule with a conference session chaired by guest speaker Jonathan Garret, Balfour Beatty’s Global Head of Sustainability who discussed how they had been able to effect a fundamental change in behaviour from their staff making sustainability part of their home life as well as their work life with the help of a Saffron e-learning course and other campaign initiatives.

Early feedback indicates that Saffron’s focus this year was very relevant with exit polls ranking them in the top 5 companies for the question “In terms of customer / supplier engagement, which company do you think you had the most profitable conversation with?”

Saffron Interactive’s CEO Noorie Sazen Commented:
“I am delighted with the level of interest in serious gaming and the feedback in relation to the Bribery Act Challenge. Gamification is set to be the biggest growing area in Learning and Development over the next few years and Saffron is passionate about continuing to lead the way in finding innovative ways of delivering effective e-learning and improving performance for its clients.”
