Creating a "Resilient World" shortlisted for social and collaborative learning technologies award
Creating a "Resilient World", a course developed by Saffron Interactive for Amec Foster Wheeler, has been shortlisted for Best use of social and collaborative learning technologies at the Learning Technologies Awards 2016.
Last year Amec Foster Wheeler commissioned Saffron Interactive to create a distinctive digital challenge. It immerses their global workforce in the company’s vision for a 'Resilient World.'
Amec Foster Wheeler, which manages the delivery of projects for customers across the globe in energy and related sectors, launched its sustainability strategy "Resilient World", to solve tomorrow’s natural resource challenges.
The vision was for employees to understand what sustainability meant for the company and how they could personally support the delivery and implementation of the ‘Resilient World’ concept. Saffron Interactive created a fresh elearning experience to inspire and motivate its employees to take action, creating at the same time a community of practice through collaborative technologies.
The course engages learners with the "Resilient World" strategy, asking them to make decisions based on real issues for three separate projects. The resulting world is the unique product of each learner’s efforts based on the decisions they made throughout the course.
They then completed a personalised action plan to implement the strategy on a day-to-day basis, and are now able to share their results on the company’s internal social network - Yammer.
"It was exciting to work with Saffron on a learning tool which is a step change compared to previous courses," says Frances Fay, Director of Sustainability at Amec Foster Wheeler.
"This eLearning experience was all about preparing our people to make sustainability a key differentiator and innovator within each project," she continues. "We are particularly pleased with the way it integrates with our internal social network – Yammer, and we hope to see a big boost in engagement across the business."
"Amec Foster Wheeler’s commitment to building a 'Resilient World' is a pragmatic and inspired approach to the social and environmental challenges which face a complex global business," says Saffron’s chief executive officer, Noorie Sazen. "I’m proud that we’ve delivered a fresh digital experience which translates the ambition into meaningful commitments on the part of every Amec Foster Wheeler employee. And of course delighted that we’ve been shortlisted for the Best use of social and collaborative learning technologies. Learning Technologies Awards 2016."
