Saffron Interactive to present strategies for effective cyber security learning at LTSF
Saffron Interactive’s James Tyas will deliver a seminar about how Saffron uses gamification and insights from behavioural science to generate employee behaviour patterns that counter modern security threats.
As we’ve seen with the ever-increasing prominence of cyber incidents in the modern business world, technology brings a whole host of threats to any organisation. Employees must be able to react to, and more importantly guard against, shifting menaces that can change from one day to the next. They are the first bastion against encroaching digital threats, and learning must change their behaviour so that new patterns of action become the norm. Saffron’s Summer Forum seminar, entitled Behavioural science and security awareness in the digital age – serious gamification for serious threats, will examine how to do just that.
The seminar will be delivered in Theatre 3 at 11:45am. “Cyber security is one of the biggest issues facing businesses today,” says James Tyas. “Our innovative approach to security awareness training leverages all we know about behavioural science and serious game mechanics to create emotional buy-in and deliver lasting behavioural change.” James will use recent case studies of projects developed for clients, one of which has won an external industry security award.
This session will look at how to:
- Make learners the guardians of cyber security
- Infuse the learning with insights from behavioural science that harnesses intangible emotional motivations to generate real behavioural change
- Apply gamification in a serious manner to create interventions that interest – without gimmicks
- Utilise social, collaborative, and iterative learning to stay at the spearhead of digital defence
- Put these elements together in practice, with examples from case studies and metrics from the real world
