Virtual language training by dp
At Learning Technologies (London, January 27th - 28th), Europe's leading showcase of technology-supported workplace learning, digital publishing will be showcasing its new course concept 'CLT live'. The new virtual language lab service of the European leader in language training software solutions offers an innovative approach to online audio and video quality.
It will be an inherent part of the new corporate offering, which includes language learning software and tutoring. "CLT live" is aimed at language learners who utilize a blend of self-study, online tutoring and live trainings, but are unable to regularly participate in courses in a classroom environment. Participants take part in the course concept "CLT live" with a high degree of interaction: They communicate with the teacher and other language students via webcam, microphone, chat and surveys.
With "CLT live", digital publishing has created the first complete curriculum which is based on the official European framework for language learning. It intelligently combines the technical potential of the virtual classroom with the integrated concept of the CLT online language school. With "CLT live", the live training takes place online and therefore is both time and cost efficient. Learners use dp's award-winning language learning software, which focuses on improving pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. They can do so with the flexibility of working from home, at work or while travelling. All classes are taught by highly qualified and experienced native speakers, who provide feedback on the learning progress.
The concept of "CLT live" contains 12 sessions in the virtual classroom, each lasting 45 minutes and including a Q&A session at the end. Learners from around the world can partic-ipate, regardless of location. The discussion of key business and current everyday topics, while also focusing on linguistic and cultural aspects helps to rapidly improve language skills. "CLT live" comprises six months of language training for the target languages English, French, Spanish and Italian. The course format is designed to meet the needs of language learners who have successfully passed the course level A1.
digital publishing's software engineers developed the virtual classroom to accommodate language students who are looking for excellent audio and clear video quality when communicating with the tutor. The live sessions focus on actively communicating in a foreign language. Listening and reading comprehension is also part of the new "CLT live" course format.
