3rd Speexx Exchange unites 450 HR and L&D experts in sharing best practice
Workforce development and greater business agility will be a major priority for 2014.
Munich – Friday, 13th December 2013 – Speexx, the award-winning leader in online corporate language training, has confirmed that this year’s Speexx Exchange attracted 450 attendees across four European capital cities. The annual e-learning and talent management forum provides delegates with an exclusive opportunity to hear about the latest HR and L&D trends from industry experts and discuss how new learning techniques can best be employed to meet the needs of the modern learner.
Now in its third year, Speexx Exchange took place in Paris, Madrid, Rome and Berlin, offering global HR and L&D Managers of multinational businesses and keynote speakers the chance to network and share best practice for workforce learning. Delegates from over 25 countries joined this year, representing global organisations such as Marriott International, Bulgari, Brückner Group, ALSTOM, SGS, Saint-Gobain, Generali, UniCredit, E.ON, Volkswagen and many more.

In parallel to the conference, Speexx audited participants before, during and after the event as part of the Speexx Exchange Survey. The audit captured the key challenges for 2013 and attitudes of global organisations towards current L&D trends. A full report will be released in early 2014. A live survey at the Berlin event presented some interesting findings:
- 52 percent of delegates cited “flexibility and instant accessibility” as the top advantage offered by e-learning; only 13.6 percent said that e-learning helped to “reduce direct training costs”
- By contrast, 41 percent of delegates said that their organisations were not fully structured to support mobile learning and 46 percent invested less than a tenth of their training budget in e-learning programmes
- 25 percent of those attending the conference have switched to a cloud-based platform; while 17.5 percent of organisations still used a local LMS which implies that many departments may still be working in silos
- The vast majority of delegates (85 percent) felt that social learning will become effective in their organization by 2016 which underlines the potential of informal learning for effective workforce development.
