Inside the 31st Human Resource Summit: What You Missed
Over 45 HR leaders gathered for three days of strategic discussions, networking, and innovation in HR practices.
On the 9th - 11th of October, Summit Events proudly hosted the 31st Human Resource Summit at the Eurostars Hotel Sitges. More than 45 HR professionals, including HR Heads and Directors, Chief HR Officers, and industry experts, attended the three-day event, which focused on networking, strategy sessions, and one-on-one meetings with HR solution providers. The Summit provided a unique platform for HR leaders to connect, collaborate, and discover new strategies to address today’s workplace challenges.
The Summit commenced with a scenic walking tour of Sitges, allowing attendees to explore the town’s rich history and mingle with fellow delegates in a relaxed environment. This one-hour tour, which covered key historical sites and the influence that the Americas had on Sitges, offered a perfect introduction to the event.
After the tour, attendees returned to the hotel for an evening drinks reception and a three-course dinner sponsored by Thrive Partners. During the dinner, Thrive Partners hosted a charity raffle in aid of Smart Works, an organisation that helps women build confidence and achieve their career goals. Prizes included Beats earphones, a spa day, and a three-month subscription to Thrive Partners Coaching.
The evening keynote was delivered by Sam McAlister, author of Scoops and the inspiration behind the Netflix film Scoop. In her keynote, “How to Convince a Prince,” Sam shared her experience securing the infamous Prince Andrew interview and offered behind-the-scenes insights into negotiation tactics and media strategy.
"Listening to Sam McAlister’s keynote on the Prince Andrew interview was eye-opening. As an HR Director, it struck me how important it is to manage difficult conversations with transparency and integrity, whether it's in the media or the workplace," - Director of People & Culture at Clarity Housekeeping Ltd.
Summit Events facilitated more than 260 one-on-one meetings between solution providers and HR leaders throughout the event. These meetings allowed delegates to discuss organisational challenges and explore tailored solutions, leading to meaningful connections and potential long-term partnerships.
“The conversations we’ve had have been great. All our matched meetings have produced meaningful discussions and have been able to offer advice or an opportunity for partnership. The delegates are well-qualified, which isn’t always the case at events like these.” Commercial Director - Culture Impact
In addition to pre-scheduled meetings, the Summit featured a range of strategy group sessions led by top industry leaders. Sessions included “Can Wellbeing Strategies Fuel Workplace Burnout?” and “Is Technology the Answer to Futureproofing HR and Reward?” These sessions provided valuable insights into current industry trends and sparked conversations on how HR leaders tackle emerging challenges within their organisations.
The 31st Human Resource Summit was an invaluable event for HR professionals, offering opportunities to network, learn, and discover innovative solutions to pressing HR issues.
“It’s been great, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time and thought the team did an amazing job. I met some great providers and lovely people, so it has been well worth my time,” said the People Director at Vagabond Wines.
