Real Conversations, Measurable Impact: The 32nd Human Resource Summit in Lisbon
The 32nd Human Resource Summit brought together senior HR leaders for three days of connection, reflection, and inspiration on Portugal’s stunning west coast. From Raphael Rowe’s thought-provoking keynote to lively strategy sessions and vineyard dinners, the event struck the perfect balance between professional development and genuine community.
From 15–17 October, senior HR leaders and solution providers gathered at the Dolce CampoReal Hotel in Lisbon for the 32nd Human Resource Summit - three days designed to spark meaningful conversation, exchange practical insights, and build partnerships that deliver results.
The Summit, sponsored by Partners& and Notion, opened with a relaxed welcome lunch, giving delegates time to connect as they arrived. A wine tasting in the afternoon set a collaborative tone, followed by a drinks reception on the sunset terrace and a three-course dinner celebrating local cuisine.
The evening concluded with a keynote from Raphael Rowe, journalist and presenter of Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons. His reflections on resilience and overcoming adversity struck a powerful chord - setting the tone for a summit focused on learning, authenticity, and growth.
“As ever, this was an excellent event striking the right balance between learning and professional networking in a very relaxed and friendly, no-pressure environment.”
 — Human Resources Director at the University of Oxford
From Insight to Action
Thursday was where the Summit’s value came to life. Delegates joined five strategy group sessions led by industry experts, exploring topics from leadership ethics and digital transformation to wellbeing and talent retention. The format encouraged open, peer-to-peer discussion that went beyond theory to practical takeaways.
“The strategy sessions, supplier meetings and networking space provided an excellent blend and environment for reflecting on my people strategies and where we go next.”
 — Head of People Engagement at Philip Morris International
Meanwhile, the 1-1 business meetings gave HR leaders and suppliers the space to discuss live projects and challenges. These sessions often lead to long-term partnerships - and this year was no exception. Many suppliers left with concrete opportunities and new business relationships formed on-site.
“I found the break-out sessions with other HR leaders and the suppliers themselves really valuable — with lots of long-term relationships built.”
 — Head of HR at The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant
The day closed with a dinner at the Adega Mãe vineyard, where conversations continued in a relaxed setting overlooking the vineyard.
“Lisbon was the perfect backdrop for some really meaningful conversations. We built new relationships and explored how we can help employers strengthen communication, boost engagement, and retain great people.”
 — Client Director at Partners&
Professional Value, Personal Connection
Friday saw three more strategy sessions and additional meetings before delegates came together for a closing lunch - a final opportunity to reflect, share key learnings, and exchange contacts.
“The event was fantastic – made some great connections and learned from peers in a way that is accessible and helpful to enable my professional development. It was a boost for my CPD, my networks and my wellbeing too given the fabulous setting.”
 — HR & OD Director at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust
As the 32nd edition closed, one sentiment was shared across the room: this Summit isn’t just about discussion - it’s about momentum. Delegates and suppliers alike left Lisbon with new ideas, partnerships, and actions to take forward.
The countdown is already underway for the 33rd Human Resource Summit, where those conversations - and collaborations - will continue.
