SumTotal Systems showcases new SumTotal Enterprise Suite 7.0 at Learning Technologies 2005 Conference
Attendees of Europe's largest learning conference to experience unprecedented flexibility, interoperability and measurability of revolutionary learning and business performance platform.
SumTotal Systems (NASDAQ: SUMT), the industry's largest provider of learning and business performance technologies, services and processes, today announced that its much-anticipated new platform, the SumTotal Enterprise Suite 7.0, will headline its appearance at this year's Learning Technologies 2005 conference, held at London's Olympia 2 exhibition center on January 26 and 27.
At the SumTotal stand (#34), conference attendees can get an in-depth look at the SumTotal Enterprise Suite 7.0, the first major product release for the company following its formation by the merger of Docent and Click2learn in March 2004. The hallmark of SumTotal 7.0 is its unmatched flexibility and adaptability. SumTotal 7.0 enables organisations to "mould" the platform to the specific characteristics of their businesses. It dynamically adapts to an organisation's changing needs, whether it's business processes, terminology and workflow, evolving organisational structures, or the personalised learning, certification and skills development needs of the individual employee.
SumTotal 7.0 offers radically easier administration of learning activities, user organisations, reporting and compliance, as well as unprecedented interoperability and integration with other technology applications and infrastructures - all without the need for programming and customization.
"After months of strategy and planning, hard work from our product management and R & D teams, and extensive feedback from customers, partners and analysts, we are proud to bring to market what many have told us is this industry's most groundbreaking solution to-date," said R. Andrew Eckert, SumTotal CEO. "SumTotal 7.0 is the culmination of the product vision we established when our two companies merged earlier this year. We are delighted to show attendees at this year's Learning Technologies conference one of the most powerful tools they can deploy to accelerate readiness, business performance and profits in their organisations."
SumTotal will be celebrating the launch by inviting show visitors to join the company at its stand between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each day for a complementary glass of champagne. Visitors to the stand also can register to win a variety of prizes.
SumTotal also will be showcasing ToolBook, its award-winning authoring solution for creating the complex simulations and interactive learning content that have proven to be a critical success factor in any organisational learning initiative. Using ToolBook's powerful features, companies can create professional, standards-based simulations, tutorials, assessments, courseware and other interactive learning content without in-depth programming skills. Based on AICC and SCORM standards, ToolBook also makes it easy to launch and track ToolBook content through a standards-compliant learning management system (LMS).
Practical lessons from a SumTotal customer
Providing a practical example of learning initiatives that impact organizational proficiency and results will be the Football Association, a long-time SumTotal customer. Danielle Every, assistant technical coordinator at the Football Association, will present "Making Learning Engaging," on Thursday, January 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. "Engaging learners in a controlled corporate environment is one thing; doing it with the general public is another," said Every. "Yet that is what the Football Association has achieved with its online and live courses. Most of these lead to qualifications, and yet many of FA Learning's 30,000 users have no formal qualifications." Every will cover lessons learned from FA's learning program, including:
- FA Learning's remit and audience
- Engaging those who have rejected learning elsewhere
- Moving the physical online
- Lessons learned and how they are reflected in new course design
- Qualifications
Using learning to address business objectives
Reflecting SumTotal's ongoing efforts to provide clients with solutions that solve real-world business problems, the company's senior director of product management, Jon Ciampi, will offer a free presentation in the Seminar Theatre on Wednesday, January 26, from 1:15 - 1:45 p.m. The session is entitled "The Future of Learning Technology," and will cover the latest innovative uses of learning technology. Ciampi will demonstrate how learning management systems increase performance and reduce expenditure, seeing specific, real world implementations and technology uses. He will also share examples of organisations that have pushed the boundaries of learning technologies to deliver unique benefits and value.
