The Professional Development Consortium launches new industry award: Provider of Training Excellence
Provider of Training Excellence is an organisation wide accreditation which demonstrates excellence across learning provision, the client experience, and maintaining standards.
Home to the CPD Standards Office (CPDSO), the Professional Development Consortium (PDC) has been researching learning and education since 2010, and accrediting CPD activities for over 6 years. The PDC are now releasing a non CPD specific accreditation which recognises training excellence across all sectors.
The criteria and methodology has been developed with a founding group of industry leaders. To name a few - Rosetta Stone, Google / Avado, the Coaching Academy, HR in Flow, Memberwise and Shirlaws Coaching have all contributed and are proud to partner with the Professional Development Consortium on this new accreditation initiative.
Provider of Training Excellence focuses on 4 key principles - the organisation as a whole, including values, goals and structure. The learning provision and portfolio, which considers how the content is designed, developed and facilitated. The client experience, which involves reviewing delegate feedback and finally maintaining excellence, this includes reviewing processes for evaluation and improvement.
This is a unique accreditation offering third party verification which goes beyond assessing the organisation, but actually validates client satisfaction and learning impact via a random sample from the providers customer base.
Being recognised as a Provider of Training Excellence is a way for an employer or training provider to demonstrate they are a reliable brand that can be trusted as they have gone through a rigorous third party verification process.
Chief Executive, Amanda Rosewarne, is thrilled about the launch, adding: “We are very excited to release this accreditation and mark of excellence as it comes from a great deal of feedback from our accredited providers and their delegates. Our recent research on the training industry, including the recent introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy, has demonstrated a strong demand for marks of quality and trust. External validation enables training consumers to make informed decisions”.
The PDC is home to the CPD Standards Office and the CPD Research Project. The CPD Standards Office currently accredits individual CPD learning activities, including events, training courses and online exercises and has over 750 accredited training providers in their membership who have achieved formal CPD accreditation and now deliver formal CPD points to delegates.
The Research Project began at Kingston Business School in 2010 and has been conducting research into education and training over the last 8 years. The Research Project and the CPDSO are both overseen by an Independent Advisory Board of learning professionals from across sectors.
The background of the PDC means that the assessment process which the training organisations go through is kept up to date and based on research findings, this ensures the most relevant areas are reviewed and verified.
