Scott Jones became one of only 90 people out of more than one million to be awarded the City and Guilds medal for excellence after earning distinctions in all of his course modules.

“Here at Virtual College, we’re proud of all our employees, but this week we have extra reason to be proud" said Operations Director Lesley Ord. Scott was the first person to start an apprenticeship at Virtual College when he joined their support team back in July 2010. "Now a permanent full time member of staff Scott’s hard work and personality make him a valued member of the team.”  said Lesley.

When asked about how the medal would affect his career, Scott replied “To win the medal is a fantastic result for me and an incredibly proud moment; it is a great achievement and now I can look forward to the future and completing further studies.”

Virtual College fully embraces the governments apprenticeship initiative and now has a further three apprentices in training across the organisation, fully using e-learning to make the most of their time on the job instead of training off site.
