The Care Quality Commission, the body responsible for checking that Hospitals, Care Homes and Care Services meet stringent Government standards, has recently started to regulate private and NHS dental services and Virtual College has responded to this move by developing an online training course to assist dentists in meeting these legislative standards.

The Safeguarding Everyone - Protecting Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults course has been developed in response to the need for those working within health and social care to understand the importance of always ensuring the safety and security of anyone within their care. Virtual College, a leading UK training provider to the NHS, has developed this course to complement a suite of safeguarding-related courses, all of which are CPD accredited.

Virtual College Marketing Manager, Peter Hilliard is enthusiastic about the benefits of online training over traditional face-to-face methods, "As all our courses are online, dental practitioners can complete their training at a time, pace and place that suits them, whether it's out of practice hours, or in convenient sections between patients; the Virtual College system bookmarks their progress, allowing them to dip in and out of their training material as time allows".

He continued "We are pleased to be involved in raising awareness of these important issues, in light of the standards laid down by the Care Quality Commission."
