The awards are intended to highlight significant efficiency improvements amongst manufacturing companies and also recognise outstanding contributions from individual employees, including apprentices. The training consisted of both “in-house” classroom training and practical work covering health & safety, team working, 5S, Kaizen, visual management and problem solving modules.

Winners on the night covered a range of manufacturing companies including Pudsey’s MPM, a manufacturer of glass fibre products, who collected awards in the ‘company’, ‘individual’ and ‘apprentice’ categories.

YP Training’s Divisional Director,Alistair Gladstone, commented: “Achieving ‘more with less’ is on everyone’s lips at the moment but it has always been at the heart of productivity improvement training.

“Our training delivery blends traditional face-to-face training with e-learning, which is second nature for learners who have grown up with the latest technology.”

Mr Gladstone continued, “Thank you to all of our guests at the 2012 YP Training Awards and special congratulations to all who received recognition in the Company, Individual or Apprentice award categories. Each year, the competition has grown in stature as companies vie with each other to demonstrate their commitment to efficiency improvement”

The coveted YP Training Awards were sponsored by EAL (EMTA Awards Limited), the specialist qualification awarding body for the manufacturing sector.
