Virtual College Announces Short-list for the Lean Healthcare Academy Awards 2013
Virtual College has today announced the eagerly awaited shortlist for its Lean Healthcare Academy Awards event being held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on 7th February.
Judged by a panel of independent and NHS Lean experts, this year’s applicants competed for a place on the shortlist across eight award categories. Each award recognises an organisation’s commitment in the use of Lean principles to improve patient care and working practices.

They should be congratulated on the improvements they have made so far. “
Now in its fifth year, the event has become a significant date for anyone working in healthcare who is serious about service improvement. Three finalists will be chosen from the shortlist for each of the award categories and will showcase their inspirational projects at the conference so that delegates can share ideas with colleagues.
Sponsored by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, NHS Yorkshire and Humber, North East Transformation System and Advanced Digital Institute, Virtual College is encouraging anyone who works in healthcare to attend the Lean Healthcare Academy Awards and Conference on the 7th February 2013. It is a unique opportunity to meet the most successful and pioneering health professionals from across the country, dedicated to improving working practices and patient care through the implementation of Lean principles.
The conference comprises a buffet lunch, followed by an exhibition of finalists’ work, a presentation by each award finalist on their Lean projects and the opportunity to network with likeminded individuals. At £85 +VAT per person, the price includes the awards ceremony in the evening comprising a drinks reception, awards dinner and presentation by guest speaker Roy Lilley.
