Leading online training provider, Virtual College, is making its online First Aid courses available at no charge to coincide with Adult Learners’ Week.

Adult Learners' Week runs from 18th to 24th May and is a national celebration of the benefits of lifelong learning. Virtual College is supporting it with access to its First Aid e-learning courses. "First aid is one of the most popular adult learning topics, with thousands of people from thousands of organisations regularly participating in first aid learning," explained Virtual College's Peter Hilliard.

First Aid, the Primary Survey is available via the Virtual College website and normally retails for £18; it is being offered to anyone who registers, not only to coincide with Adult Learners' Week but also in celebration of Virtual College having recently attained its one million online learners milestone, an achievement of which it is justifiably proud.

The course has already benefitted many industry sectors from healthcare, housing, safeguarding, councils and education and it is hoped that learners will be able to see the benefits of e-learning as a real alternative in improving efficiency and reducing the costs of delivering training.

Adult Learners' Week is the perfect opportunity to explore the many types of learning available to adults from all walks of life. Through thousands of events and awards ceremonies, Adult Learners' Week:

  • recognises the achievements of outstanding individuals and innovative learning projects
  • encourages participation in different kinds of learning, whether it is to improve prospects in a current role, start a new career, improve physical and mental health, learn skills to support family and community, improve essential skills for personal development and to deal with the demands of everyday life, or learn just for fun
  • offers organisations the chance to showcase the learning opportunities that they provide and
  • shapes the debate about adult learning.

Registration for the free course is available at the Virtual College website www.virtual-college.co.uk and by following the link on the home page. This offer is only available between Monday 20th and Friday 24th May. Certain terms and conditions will apply.
