Virtual College to host Lean Healthcare Sharing Forum
The Lean Healthcare Sharing Forum will focus on the increasing demand for service improvement in healthcare settings and the delivery of quality and safety against a background of economic constraints.
"Proven by its widespread use throughout the Healthcare sector the Lean concept is one of the most effective ways to improve the quality and financial efficiency of patient care. The Lean sharing Forum is an inspirational platform to learn from other organisations who are implementing improvement initiatives," explains Sue Bradbury, Healthcare Manager.
Shared experiences of some of the past improvement initiatives have included the reduction of inappropriate hospital stays, improving access and waiting times, reducing the cost of temporary staff, improving department efficiency, improving processes, and reaching better strategic decisions.
The forum will consist of presentations from prominent guest speakersfrom Central Surrey Health and Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a Question Time session where delegates are encouraged to engage with key speakers and ask questions to a panel of Lean experts.
"The Lean Healthcare Academy holds free sharing forums twice a year for healthcare workers. The event will be invaluable for anyone needing help or guidance with the development of continuous improvement programmes," adds Bradbury.
